How to rent out a property on Folkemarked
If you have a property to let, you can post a rental listing on Folkemarked — free, straightforward and visible to tenants in your area.
Getting started
- Log in and go to Legg ut eiendom (Post a property).
- Choose Leie ut (Rent out) as the listing type.
- Enter the address — the system looks up what it knows about the property to speed up the form.
- Fill in property type, size, number of bedrooms and monthly rent.
- Upload photos and write a clear description — what's included in the rent, pets, parking and so on.
- Publish — the listing is visible straight away.
When the property is rented out
Open the listing and mark it as utleid (rented out) in the owner controls. That keeps My listings tidy and tells anyone still looking at the listing that the property is no longer available. See How to edit, mark as sold or delete a listing.
How much does it cost?
Posting a rental listing is free for private individuals. You'll always find the current planned prices for optional extras at /priser.
Your responsibilities as a landlord
Folkemarked is a listing tool — we are not a party to the rental agreement. As a landlord you are responsible for ensuring the tenancy complies with Norwegian tenancy law (husleieloven): a written tenancy agreement, a deposit account and normal upkeep. Template agreements are available from organisations such as Huseierne and Leieboerforeningen.
